Donna Sutton, Program Director
Donna Sutton graduated from Pepperell High School and attended the University of Georgia. Later she graduated with a BS in Dental Hygiene from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and came back to this area to practice dental hygiene. She decided to go into education, returned to school and taught Health Occupations for Floyd County Schools. Prior to coming to CVTC she was Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene at Floyd College for five years.

She is now the Program Director for Dental Assisting here at Coosa Valley Technical College and she is excited to be a part of such a great program and to continue serving the dental profession.

Donna has a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Jacksonville State University and loves helping the students improve their self esteem and grow into professionals.

Genesis Chester, Instructor


Genesis Chester graduated from Southeast Whitfield High School in Dalton, GA and then joined the Navy, where she served for 4 ½ years as a Dental Technician. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1987 she moved to Albany, New York with her husband and worked in a general dental office and a maxiofacial practice as a dental assistant.

She moved back to Dalton in 1989, and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. James L. Todd. She left Dr. Todd’s practice to attend Floyd College and obtain her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene, and has since returned to his office as a dental hygienist.
