About CVTC Health Occupations Admissions
If you are completing your pre-occupational courses in your chosen field of study for a health career THIS QUARTER, you must complete an eligibility request form as the first part of the competitive admission process.
The eligibility request forms will be available between
February 18th – March 20th
Please go to room H111 on the Floyd County Campus or the Student Services area on the Polk County Campus and the Gordon County Campus to complete your form during this time frame. All requests received after this time period has passed will be processed during NEXT quarter.
You must also attend a general health orientation as a part of the competitive admissions process. If you have not attended one of these sessions, please check the bulletin boards in the H building on the Floyd County Campus or check with the student services area on the Polk County Campus and Gordon County Campus for the next scheduled dates for this presentation. You will complete a form during this orientation and submit it to the orientation presenter as documentation of your attendance. Attendance to at least one of these sessions is MANDATORY for the eligibility pool.

If you do not have a high school transcript or official GED on file with Coosa Valley Technical College, you are required to submit that documentation at the time of your eligibility request. You will not be added to the Eligibility Pool without this documentation on file.

Please allow at least three (3) weeks following the end of the quarter before expecting this letter. If you do not receive a letter by the end of those three (3) weeks, please contact Patti Oliver at 706-295-6882.

Notice to CVTC Health Program Students:
Admissions to Health Programs has changed
Admission to Health Technologies programs has changed from the current first-to-qualify, first-to-enter basis. Students who completed their pre-occupational courses during SummerQuarter of 2007 were the last students to be placed on the Health Programs Waiting List. All students who finished their pre-occupational courses in the Fall Quarter of 2007 (200802), and after, are now placed in the Health Programs Eligibility Pool. The policies and procedures for Competitive Admissions and for clearing the Health Programs Waiting Lists can be found in the Health Technologies section of the CVTC Catalog. Pre-occupational courses for some Health Technologies programs are not offered every quarter. See the individual program description for a list of pre-occupational courses and program entry dates for occupational courses.
A Health Technologies orientation is held each quarter for all new applicants to Health Technologies programs. Attendance at this orientation a requirement for consideration for placement on the Health Programs Waiting List or in the Health Programs Eligibility Pool.
